Unlocking the Potential of MSMEs in the Aerospace and Defence Sector: A Call for Simplification and Collaboration
India’s MSMEs are crucial to the industrial sector but face challenges integrating into Aerospace & Defence (A&D) supply chains. While OEMs require reliable vendors, MSMEs struggle with complex approval processes, often hindered by inspection agencies. This disconnect limits their potential. A peer review or rating system, similar to ONDC and GeM, could improve transparency and trust, allowing MSMEs easier access to OEMs. Removing bureaucratic barriers and creating efficient vendor pipelines will strengthen India's A&D ecosystem. By adopting such innovations, India can empower MSMEs, boost self-reliance, and position itself as a global manufacturing leader in critical industries.
